Basic Income Referendum Switzerland

Today is a historic day:

Switzerland is the first country in the world to have held a national Basic Income referendum.

In the Cantons Basel-City, Geneva and Jura more than 35% of the people voted Yes. I am very proud to be a Basel-City citizen and to be part of the #1 canton with 36.0% Yes votes.

This is a global movement and it is gaining traction. In Silicon Valley, in Germany, in the Netherlands, in Finland and many other places. Kenya will soon do an experiment with 6000 people for 10 years.

I am convinced that this idea will keep growing, especially as the world becomes more and more digitized, automated and robotized. In the meantime, as an entrepreneur, I keep generating my own personal basic income. Freedom and fulfilling my human potential have been key drivers for me to become an entrepreneur. So for me the ideas of entrepreneurship and basic income are not opposed, but in fact very close together.
